Dental Technologies at Our Clinic

At Peace Country Dental Clinic, the technology we use helps to inform our treatment planning and can  make your dental appointments more efficient. We can display digital x-rays and scans on the monitors in our treatment rooms, which means we can show you any issues in your mouth and walk you through your treatment plan.

We believe in providing patients with efficient dental care and making sure they are fully informed about their oral health. Dental technology can help us fulfill that goal.

Digital X-Rays

Digital x-rays use digital sensors, rather than the film used in traditional photographic x-rays. Digital x-rays produce highly detailed computer images of the teeth and gums, as well as other oral structures and conditions, allowing your dentist to examine parts of the mouth that are not visible to the naked eye.

Panoramic X-Rays

Panoramic x-rays allow your dentist to create a single flat image of your entire mouth. This image is a representation of the teeth, upper and lower jaws, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and nasal and sinus structures. Panoramic x-rays can be used to help plan treatments for dentures, braces, extractions and implants.

Dental Lasers

In dentistry, lasers (extremely focused light beams) can be used in multiple soft tissue procedures. They can allow our dentists to perform dental procedures with reduced pain and fewer necessary medical interventions. At Peace Country Dental Clinic, our dentists use lasers to assist us in removing overgrown or decayed tissue in your mouth, or to reshape your gums.

Oral Cancer Screening Device

The VELscope is an oral cancer screening device that helps the dentist to identify abnormalities and diseases in your mouth, such as cancerous and pre-cancerous lesions. Using fluorescence visualisation technology, it can be performed in our dentist’s office during routine exams and under normal lighting conditions in approximately two minutes.
